Do you want to work in a unit where nurses and nursing assistants share joint responsibility for both the ward and each other? Then you might be the person we are looking for. We are now welcoming three nursing assistants to our team at the Intensive Care Unit in Helsingborg!

About the Workplace

The Intensive Care Unit is located at Helsingborg Hospital, which is part of the Skåne Hospitals Northwest administration. Helsingborg Hospital is one of Region Skåne's four emergency hospitals, providing qualified emergency care around the clock. Our unit serves as a resource for the various operations at Helsingborg Hospital and collaborates with other intensive care units in Region Skåne.

At the Intensive Care Unit, we staff the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the post-operative ward, the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), the hyperbaric chamber, and the pain unit. The ICU is a general intensive care unit with eight beds for patients from northwestern Skåne. The UVA (Observation Unit) is open 24/7 with 15 monitoring beds, two of which are primarily used for monitoring children. The ICU and UVA provide qualified intensive and post-operative care. Patients are treated on the ward following trauma, sepsis, cardiac arrest, and multi-organ failure, among other conditions.

The pain unit and the hyperbaric chamber are also part of the ICU. The pain unit acts as a consult service for acute/post-operative, cancer, and neurogenic pain in inpatients. The hyperbaric chamber treats patients from all over southern Sweden, including those with wound healing problems.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who are ready to take on new challenges and enjoy working in a team around critically ill and newly operated patients. Here, you will find exciting work with great variation, offering opportunities for professional development in your role.

As a nursing assistant, you will collaborate closely with nurses and doctors, with the patient always at the center of your focus. You will work with various patient categories, which means you will experience a varying work pace. The position involves caring for critically ill and/or newly operated patients, where you monitor patients using medical technology equipment. Your workday consists largely of various nursing care measures that are crucial for the patient's recovery - in this, you play a central role as a nursing assistant.

Qualifications

We welcome you who are trained as a nursing assistant with a focus on emergency care according to the previous program structure, or who are trained as a nursing assistant within the new program structure having completed all specializations. You must meet the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required for the position. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in an intensive care unit and/or a post-operative unit, as well as having a few years of experience in emergency care.
